Installing VMware Workstation Log in to the Windows host system as the Administrator user or as a user who is a member of the local Administrators group.

Open the folder where the VMware Workstation installer was downloaded. Right-click the installer and click Run as Administrator. Select a setup option:. Locate the VMware Tools icon and double-click it. The Options tab shows the Miscellaneous Options. You can view the status of the Open VMware Tools service by entering vmtools-service status at the command line.
